Rory the little raccoon lay in his cozy bed, Twinkling stars dancing above his head. His eyes were wide, his mind alive with chatter, “Oh, how I wish I could sleep, but it doesn’t seem to matter!”
The moon peeked in through his window so bright, Casting shadows that danced in the pale moonlight. Rory tossed and turned, his blanket in a tangle, When suddenly he heard a soft, melodic jangle.
“What’s that?” he wondered, his ears perked up high, As he listened closely to the sound from the sky. It was gentle and soothing, like a lullaby so sweet, Rory couldn’t help but tap along with his feet.
He crept to the window, careful not to make a sound, And what he saw there left him spellbound! The stars were singing, their voices clear and light, A beautiful chorus filling up the night.
“Hello there, young Rory,” the brightest star did say, “We see you’re having trouble drifting away. Would you like to join us in our nightly song? We promise it won’t keep you up for long.”
Rory nodded eagerly, his eyes big and round, As he climbed out the window without a sound. The stars reached down with twinkling beams so fine, And lifted little Rory high into the sky divine.
Up, up he floated, light as a feather, Through clouds so soft, like the fluffiest weather. The stars surrounded him, their glow warm and bright, And taught him their song of peaceful night.
“Twinkle, twinkle, little dreams, Float on by like gentle streams. Close your eyes and rest your head, Starlight guides you to your bed.”
Rory sang along, his voice sweet and clear, As shooting stars zipped by, so very near. He danced with comets and played hide-and-seek, Behind puffy clouds and the moon’s golden cheek.
The Milky Way stretched out like a sparkling road, Where stardust sprinkled and softly glowed. Rory giggled as it tickled his nose, And made him feel sleepy from his head to his toes.
The stars noticed Rory’s eyes growing heavy, His little paws now moving less steadily. “It’s time to return you to your cozy nest, For now you’re ready for a good night’s rest.”
They lowered him gently back through his window, Tucking him in with starlight’s warm glow. Rory yawned and snuggled deep in his bed, The song of the stars still fresh in his head.
From that night on, whenever sleep seemed far, Rory would look up and sing with each star. The whisper of the starry sky, so tender and true, Would always be there to help him sleep through.
So remember, dear children, when you can’t fall asleep, Listen closely to the night, so vast and deep. For the whisper of the starry sky is always there, Ready to calm you with its lullaby so fair.
And as you drift off to the land of dreams, Where nothing is quite as impossible as it seems, Know that the stars are watching from high above, Sending you peaceful thoughts and so much love.
