Olive was a little girl with curly hair and bright eyes, Who loved to watch the stars twinkle in the night skies. But when it came to bedtime, she just couldn’t sleep, No matter how many sheep she tried to count or leap.
One evening, as she tossed and turned in her cozy bed, A gentle breeze whispered softly near her head. “Hello there, Olive,” it said with a soothing sound, “I’m the Dreamy Wind, and I’ve been floating around.”
Olive sat up, surprised to hear the wind speak, Her curiosity piqued, she let out a small squeak. “Oh Dreamy Wind, why can’t I fall asleep? I’ve tried everything, even counting woolly sheep!”
The Dreamy Wind chuckled, a soft melodic tune, “Don’t worry, dear Olive, we’ll have you dreaming soon. Close your eyes and listen to my gentle song, I’ll take you on a journey where you belong.”
With a swoosh and a swirl, the wind lifted Olive high, Carrying her gently through the starry sky. They soared past clouds as soft as cotton candy, And over a forest where fireflies danced so grand-y.
They glided by a field of flowers fast asleep, Their petals closed tight, not making a peep. “See how the flowers rest?” the Dreamy Wind said, “They close their eyes and dream in their flowerbed.”
Next, they floated by a nest of sleepy birds, Whose lullabies were the sweetest Olive had ever heard. “The birds sing softly to help their babies rest, Just like your mom and dad do their very best.”
They drifted down to a pond so still and clear, Where silver fish swam slowly, without any fear. “The fish swim lazily in their watery home, Letting the gentle current help them roam.”
As they journeyed on, Olive began to yawn, Her eyelids growing heavy before the dawn. The Dreamy Wind whispered, “It’s time to go back, To your warm, cozy bed and your favorite knick-knack.”
Gently, oh so gently, the wind carried her down, Back through her window without a sound. Olive snuggled deep into her soft, warm sheets, As the Dreamy Wind hummed lullabies so sweet.
“Remember, dear Olive,” the wind softly said, “Whenever you’re restless and can’t go to bed, Just listen for my song in the night so still, And let my soft hush your dreams fulfill.”
Olive smiled sleepily, her eyes closing tight, “Thank you, Dreamy Wind, for this magical night.” And as she drifted off to a land of dreams, The wind’s gentle song flowed like quiet streams.
From that night on, whenever Olive couldn’t sleep, She’d listen for the wind and count not sheep. The soft hush of the Dreamy Wind would come, Singing lullabies until her day was done.
So remember, little ones, when sleep won’t come near, Listen for the Dreamy Wind, it’s always here. Let its gentle song carry you to lands so fair, Where dreams are born and float on the air.
And now, as our story comes to an end, May the Dreamy Wind be your nighttime friend. Close your eyes and listen to its soothing sound, As it carries you to dreamland, safe and sound.
Goodnight, sleep tight, and sweet dreams to you, Let the soft hush of the Dreamy Wind see you through.
