Charlie was a little boy with curly hair and curious eyes, Who loved to explore the garden, where flowers touched the skies. One evening, as the sun began to set, He heard a gentle humming that he’d never forget.

Tip-toeing through the roses, past the daisies so bright, Charlie searched for the source of that magical night. There, perched on a branch of his favorite tree, Was a tiny hummingbird, as small as could be.

Its feathers shimmered like jewels in the fading light, Wings beating so fast, they were a blur to the sight. Charlie whispered, “Hello there, little one so small, What brings you to my garden, as evening starts to fall?”

The hummingbird turned its head and looked at the boy, Then began to sing a song that filled Charlie with joy. It wasn’t like any birdsong he’d ever heard before, This melody was special, right down to its core.

“Tweet-tweet, chirp-chirp, hum-hum-hum,” Sang the little bird, as still as a drum. Its voice was so sweet, so gentle and clear, Charlie felt his eyelids growing heavy, oh dear!

He sat beneath the tree, the grass soft as a pillow, Listening to the hummingbird’s lullaby willow. The song spoke of flowers that bloom in the night, Of stars that twinkle and moon so bright.

It told of adventures in faraway lands, Where rivers flow with honey and beaches have golden sands. Charlie’s imagination soared as he listened with glee, To tales of magical creatures and an enchanted sea.

The hummingbird sang of gentle breezes and butterflies, Of rainbows that stretched across summer skies. It hummed about fireflies that danced in the dark, And owls that hooted their song in the park.

As Charlie listened, he felt sleep drawing near, But he didn’t want to miss a single note so dear. “Please don’t stop singing,” he said with a yawn, “Your melody is sweeter than any I’ve known.”

The hummingbird fluttered down and perched on his knee, Its tiny eyes twinkling with mischievous glee. “Dear Charlie,” it whispered, “close your eyes tight, I’ll sing you to sleep on this magical night.”

So Charlie lay back on the soft, dewy grass, Watching the first stars begin to amass. The hummingbird’s song grew softer and slow, Like a lullaby only Charlie would know.

It sang of sweet dreams and peaceful rest, Of cozy blankets and a warm, snuggly nest. Charlie’s eyes grew heavy, his breathing grew deep, As the hummingbird’s melody lulled him to sleep.

In his dreams, Charlie flew with his new feathered friend, Over mountains and valleys that seemed to never end. They soared through clouds and skimmed over seas, All while the hummingbird hummed its sweet melodies.

When morning came and Charlie awoke with the sun, He remembered the night and all of its fun. Though the hummingbird was gone, its song lingered still, In Charlie’s heart and mind, a sweet melody to fill.

From that day on, whenever Charlie felt blue, He’d close his eyes and remember the tune. The hummingbird’s sweet melody would play in his head, Bringing comfort and joy as he lay in his bed.

So remember, dear children, as you drift off to sleep, The magic of nature is yours to keep. Listen closely to the world all around, For sweet melodies are waiting to be found.

And who knows? Perhaps one special night, A tiny hummingbird might come into sight. To sing you a lullaby, so gentle and true, Just like the one Charlie’s hummingbird knew.
