Miles was a curious little boy with wild, curly hair and eyes that sparkled like stars. Every night, as the sun dipped below the horizon, he would sit by his bedroom window, wondering about the world outside. On this particular evening, as Miles pressed his nose against the cool glass, he noticed something peculiar.

The wind, usually so quiet and gentle, began to hum a soft melody. It was unlike anything Miles had ever heard before. The tune was sweet and soothing, like a lullaby meant just for him.

“Hello, Wind!” Miles called out, his voice barely above a whisper. “What’s that lovely song you’re humming?”

To his surprise, the Wind replied, its voice as light as a feather, “Oh, hello there, young Miles! I’m singing the Bedtime Song, a special tune that helps all the creatures of the world fall asleep.”

Miles’s eyes widened with wonder. “Really? Can you teach me the song?”

The Wind chuckled softly, “Of course, dear child. But first, we must visit all the sleepy creatures and help them drift off to dreamland. Would you like to join me?”

Without hesitation, Miles nodded eagerly. In a blink, he found himself floating outside his window, carried gently by the Wind’s loving embrace.

Their first stop was a nearby meadow, where a family of rabbits huddled together in their burrow. The Wind began to hum, and Miles listened closely, trying to learn the melody.

“Hush now, little bunnies, close your eyes so tight, The moon is watching over you all through the night.”

The rabbits’ ears twitched, and they snuggled closer, drifting off to sleep with contented sighs.

Next, they visited a pond where a group of ducklings bobbed on the water’s surface. The Wind’s song grew a little stronger, and Miles hummed along:

“Float along, sweet ducklings, on dreams soft and light, The stars will guide your way until morning’s first light.”

The ducklings tucked their heads under their wings, lulled to sleep by the gentle rhythm.

As they soared higher, Miles and the Wind came across an owl perched on a tall oak tree. The owl blinked sleepily, and the Wind sang:

“Wise old owl, your watch is done, time to rest your weary eyes, Tomorrow brings new adventures and brand new skies.”

The owl hooted softly before closing its eyes, finally ready for sleep.

Miles was amazed at how each creature responded to the Wind’s song. As they continued their journey, he found himself humming along more confidently, his voice blending perfectly with the Wind’s melody.

They visited sleepy sheep in rolling hills, drowsy fish in babbling brooks, and even a family of bears in a cozy cave. With each stop, Miles learned a new verse of the Bedtime Song, his heart filling with warmth and joy.

As the night grew late, the Wind whispered, “It’s time to head home, Miles. You’ve been a wonderful helper, and now you know the Bedtime Song by heart.”

Gently, the Wind carried Miles back to his bedroom window. As they said their goodbyes, Miles yawned, suddenly feeling very sleepy himself.

“Will I see you again?” he asked the Wind.

“Of course, dear Miles. Whenever you hear my humming, you’ll know I’m near. And now, it’s time for your own lullaby.”

Miles crawled into bed, pulling his blanket up to his chin. The Wind’s voice, soft and comforting, filled the room:

“Sleep tight, sweet Miles, your adventures now done, Tomorrow brings new wonders when rises the sun. Dream of the creatures you’ve helped and the songs that you’ve learned, For in your heart, the Bedtime Song will always be yearned.”

As Miles drifted off to sleep, a smile played on his lips. He knew that from that night on, he would always have a special connection with the Humming Wind and its magical Bedtime Song.

And so, dear children, as you close your eyes tonight, listen closely. You might just hear the Wind humming its special lullaby, ready to carry you off to your own sweet dreams.
