Benji was a curious little boy with wild, curly hair and eyes that sparkled like stars. Every night, he would bounce on his bed, giggling and refusing to go to sleep. His parents tried everything to help him settle down, from warm milk to lullabies, but nothing seemed to work.

One evening, as Benji’s mom tucked him in, she whispered, “Benji, dear, did you know that if you lie very still and close your eyes, your bed might just float away on a cloud?”

Benji’s eyes widened with wonder. “Really, Mommy? How?”

His mom smiled and said, “Magic, of course! But you have to be very quiet and still.”

Excited by this new possibility, Benji snuggled down under his cozy blanket and squeezed his eyes shut. He tried his very best to stay still, which was not an easy task for such a wiggly boy.

Suddenly, Benji felt a gentle swaying motion. He peeked one eye open and gasped. His bed was no longer in his room! It was floating high above the rooftops, nestled on a fluffy white cloud.

“Wow!” Benji whispered, careful not to move too much and disturb the cloud.

The cloud carried Benji’s bed over the twinkling lights of the city below. He saw cars that looked like tiny ants and buildings that resembled building blocks. The cool night air ruffled his curly hair as they drifted higher and higher.

As they floated along, Benji noticed other beds joining them in the sky. There was a polka-dotted bed with a little girl named Lily, who waved shyly at Benji. Next to her was a race car bed with twins Tommy and Timmy, both sound asleep and snoring softly.

The cloud gently guided Benji’s bed towards a magical land in the sky. There were castles made of pillows, blanket forests, and rivers of warm milk. Teddy bears strolled hand in hand, while sheep leaped over fences made of counting numbers.

Benji’s bed landed softly in a field of the softest grass he had ever felt. It was like lying on a giant marshmallow. He climbed out of bed and was greeted by the Sandman, a jolly old fellow with twinkling eyes and a beard made of stardust.

“Welcome, Benji!” the Sandman said warmly. “Are you ready for a bedtime adventure?”

Benji nodded eagerly, and the Sandman led him through the wonderful world of dreams. They rode on the back of a giant, friendly dragon who breathed out bubbles instead of fire. They slid down rainbows into pools of liquid starlight. They even had a tea party with the Moon, who told the funniest jokes Benji had ever heard.

As the night wore on, Benji found himself yawning more and more. His eyelids felt heavy, and he struggled to keep them open.

The Sandman noticed and said gently, “I think it’s time for you to head back, Benji. Remember, you can always visit again tomorrow night if you go to bed nicely.”

Benji nodded sleepily and climbed back into his bed. The cloud lifted them up once more, and they began their journey home. As they floated back, Benji saw all the other children returning to their houses too. The twins were still snoring, and Lily was hugging her favorite stuffed animal tightly.

When Benji’s bed finally settled back into his room, he was fast asleep, a peaceful smile on his face. In the morning, he woke up feeling refreshed and happy.

“Mommy, Daddy!” he exclaimed at breakfast. “I had the most amazing adventure last night!”

His parents exchanged knowing smiles as Benji recounted his magical journey.

From that day on, Benji always went to bed without a fuss. He would lie still, close his eyes, and wait for the cloud to come and take him on new adventures. And even on the nights when his bed didn’t float away, Benji’s dreams were filled with the wonders he had seen in the magical land in the sky.

As Benji grew older, he never forgot about the bed that floated on a cloud. He always remembered that bedtime wasn’t just about sleeping – it was about embarking on wonderful adventures in the world of dreams.

And so, dear children, as you snuggle into your own beds tonight, remember to lie very still and close your eyes. Who knows? Maybe your bed will float away on a cloud too, carrying you to a magical land where anything is possible in your dreams.
